Ambra, which is always operational even in the presence of unstable products, was the shrink wrap machine picked by a famous manufacturing firm for its hygiene products packed in boxes with a narrow and irregular resting base.

The product presented multiple difficulties such as, for instance, the difference in weight between the various formats and the fact that the containers were empty. These features required specific adjustments to allow variable cycles of between 15 and 25 packs per minute depending on the format. Ecofard proved perfectly reliable both in extreme cases such as the film-only pack of 48 106-cc jars and the 20 1-litre bottle pack.

The Customer has a comprehensive range of cat and dog food that is packed in individual 150 g and 300 g portions in doypacks; obviously, the difference in the products contained inside means the doypacks have very different textures and this requires a feeding system with good tolerance capable of grouping together this type of soft pouch. The packaging designed envisages white boxes with very stylish graphics and a display opening to make the product stand out on the shelves, so it is necessary for each box to prove perfectly sealed, neat and tidy.

We satisfied all the customer’s requirements with Palladio, the wrap around cartoning machine for soft packs. Fitted with a picking system with suction cups to position the carton carefully without damage it, this machine folds the cardboard to form a box that envelops the product precisely.
The machine is equipped with a magazine of 400 sheets to reduce the number of reloading operations required.

This Customer expressed the need to equip AMBRA SV with a series of optionals to accommodate all the specifications of a production line with a complex layout. Ambra’s modular structure made it possible to obtain a completely tailored machine, yet reliable and tried and tested like a standard product.
Since the shape of the bottles does not have a hollow for the label, to protect the graphics the customer decided to use the dedicated label-saving module

The difficulties posed by this specific product were:

• the significant difference between the smallest format and the biggest one
• the light weight of the small packs

The customer picked Giotto 90M because it guarantees perfect packs even at high production rates; indeed, the products are packed in display boxes that are placed on the shelves in the point of sale, so each pack has to be top quality to reflect the value of the brand.

A “smart” pusher was used to calibrate the force depending on the weight of the jar.

The difficulties posed by this specific product were:

• the considerable weight
• the lack of compactness of each individual pack
• there was a considerable difference in texture as the format changed
• the top of the sack had to be folded accurately before being wrapped by the cardboard

Raffaello Multifila proved to be the winning solution; it was equipped with a dedicated system for folding the upper flap of the sacks and the adjustable pushing system solved the problem posed by the varying textures.

The company decided to equip its end of line with an automatic machine to pack food products packed in trays.
The line layout demanded a cartoning machine with special characteristics, so Atlanta’s ability to customise its models while retaining the same superior quality standards was a significant factor in the Customer’s choice.
The space available in the frozen foods line, already in operation for years, is less than 4 metres and the product over several layers is packed in stacked and tapered food trays.

The 90° infeed as standard of the Raffaello model was integrated with a special product infeed unit that makes it possible to exploit all the little space available without letting the product that arrives already stacked lose stability. The product is moved onto the cardboard by a special accompanying system, designed to guarantee perfect movements of the trays even if these are arranged in stacked layers, and it is kept stable while the cardboard envelops it.

Another determining factor in the choice was the possibility of sealing the pack with a sealed case closure.
